XL Unlocker ("we", "us", "our") operates the website xlunlocker.com (the "Service"). 2. Client-Side Processing — No File Upload

Your files are never uploaded to any server. All file processing occurs entirely within your web browser using client-side JavaScript (the Web API and JSZip library). We have no technical ability to access, view, intercept, store, or transmit your files at any point during the process. Once you close or refresh the browser tab, all file data in memory is discarded by the browser's garbage collector.

This architecture means we physically cannot experience a data breach involving your Excel files, because we never possess them. Learn more about how the tool processes your files.

3. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, store, or process:

  • Your Excel files, file contents, file names, or any file metadata
  • Personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, phone number, or physical address
  • Account credentials or login information (no accounts exist on this Service)
  • Payment or financial information (no payments are currently processed)
  • IP addresses in any server-side logs we control

4. Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Service, certain information may be collected automatically through third-party services:

  • Google Analytics (Google LLC): We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with our website. This service may collect anonymized data including page views, session duration, approximate geographic location (country/city level), browser type, operating system, screen resolution, and referring URLs. Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish unique users. Data is processed by Google under their Privacy Policy.

  • Daily usage counter: A simple counter tracking how many files you've processed today (e.g., {"date":"2026-04-01","count":1}). This data never leaves your browser and is automatically reset each day.

You can clear this data at any time through your browser's settings (Clear Site Data).

6. Cookies

XL Unlocker itself does not set any first-party cookies. However, third-party services embedded on our site may set cookies:

  • Google Analytics: Sets cookies (e.g., _ga, _gid) to distinguish unique visitors and track session activity. These cookies expire between 24 hours and 2 years depending on the cookie. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Since we do not collect personal data or files on our servers, there is no user data for us to retain or delete. Third-party analytics data retained by Google is governed by Google's own data retention policies. localStorage data on your device persists until you clear it manually or clear your browser data.

We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise share any personal information with third parties. Since we do not collect personal data, there is nothing to share. We do not use any data brokers, affiliate tracking, or cross-site tracking technologies beyond Google Analytics as described above.

We take the security of our Service seriously. The website is served over HTTPS (TLS encryption) to protect data in transit. Since no user data is collected or stored on our servers, the attack surface for data breaches is minimal by design.
